The Selection Panel for the recruitment of nominees for appointment to the positions of chairperson and members of IEBC has completed interviews of candidates shortlisted for position of chairperson.
The exercise which commenced on March 24 came to an end on March 26, 2025.
“We are happy to report that all 11 shortlisted candidates availed themselves to participate in the interview process,” chair of the panel Dr Nelson Makanda said.
With the chairperson interviews concluded, the Panel will now proceed with interviews for the candidates shortlisted for the position of member.
The candidates for chair position were former Judiciary Chief Registrar Anne Amadi, Saul Simiyu Wasilwa, Abdulqadir Lorot Ramadhan, Joy Mdivo, Edward Katama Ngeywa, Erastus Edung Ethekon, Francis Kakai Kissinger, Jacob Ngwele Muvengei, Lilian Wanjiku Manegene, Robert Akumu Asembo, and Charles Nyachae
The interviews for member of IEBC will start on Thursday and continue until Friday April 25, 2025.
“We wish to once again remind all shortlisted applicants to bring current and valid clearance certificates from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the Higher Education Loans Board, the Kenya Revenue Authority, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, the Commission for University Education for applicants with degrees from foreign universities and any of the Credit Reference Bureaus,” Makanda added.
He invited the public to avail, in writing, under oath, by memoranda, any information of interest with respect to the suitability of any of the shortlisted applicants to serve as member of the IEBC not later than five days before the day of interview of the said candidate.
“The memoranda may be forwarded to the Chairperson of the Selection Panel for the Recruitment of Nominees for appointment as the Chairperson and Members of the IEBC, through registered mail; or hand-delivered in a sealed envelope between 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. to the Chairperson of the Selection Panel for the Recruitment of Nominees for appointment as the Chairperson and Members of the IEBC, 3rd Floor, County House Building, Parliament Road; or submitted online as a PDF file format attachment to [email protected],” he stated.
The total number of Kenyans who applied for member of the IEBC stood at 1,333.
Of these 237 (17.77 per cent) were female, 1078 (80.87 per cent) male while 18 (1.35 per cent) did not attach National IDs on the applications.
