President William Ruto on Saturday, April 5 wrapped up a five-day whirlwind tour across Mt Kenya with a heartfelt message to the region: “Nĩ Ngatho Muno Murima!”

The phrase, which means “Thank you so much Mt Kenya” in Kikuyu, was part of a social media post the President shared, accompanied by a montage of videos from his stops across various counties in the region.

From marketplaces to open-air town halls and roadside addresses, Ruto’s tour covered counties including Nyeri, Meru, Murang’a, Kirinyaga, and Kiambu.

At each stop, he spoke about his administration’s development agenda and reiterated his commitment to work for the people.

The videos showed him engaging with residents, launching projects, and discussing key issues including agriculture, trade, and youth empowerment.

Ruto and his deputy Kithure Kindiki who had accompanied him promised to return to the region as many times as possible to ensure ongoing projects are completed on time.

On Saturday, the last day of the visit, Ruto and Kindiki took time to inspect projects in Nyeri Town and Othaya in Nyeri County and Githunguri and Lari constituencies in Kiambu County.

"I will be back here many times until the work you have assigned me comes to fruition," Ruto said.

"We must ensure that our people benefit from all the projects we are implementing in the region," President assured.

In Nyeri Town constituency, the President inspected the ongoing construction of Ruring'u Affordable houses and Ruring'u Stadium and launched Othaya Town Modern Market which is among 10 new markets under construction in Nyeri County.

In Kiambu, he opened Technical Vocational Education Training Institute and Jitume ICT Lab and inspected Mau Mau Road Lot 1A and Lot 1B in Lari Constituency. He also opened Githunguri Market in Githunguri constituency.

"It's not time to politick. You elected all of us to serve you. You elected the MCA, MP, Governor, Senator and me as President with a specific mandate.

“You will examine all of us in 2027. I will be ready for that political test because I'm preparing for it through the actualization of all the promises I have made," the President said.
