KPLC: Areas to face power cuts Sunday

The utility firm says power interruptions aim to facilitate system maintenance

The Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced a scheduled power maintenance exercise in parts of the North Rift and Western regions today, April 13, 2025.

The utility company released a notice stating that the planned power interruptions are intended to facilitate essential maintenance work.

This is to improve the reliability and efficiency of the electricity supply in the affected areas.

In Uasin Gishu County, parts of the Soy constituency, including Furfural, Nangili, Likuyani, Imbinga, Ivugwi, Lumino, Navilus, Kabobo Farm, Kipsomba, Tarakwa, Chemoset, Lugulu, Chemororoch, Mawe Tatu, and Kongoni, will experience a power outage from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Another area within the county, including Pan Villa, RAM Garage, CMC Motors, ODM Estate, and Moi University Hostels, will have power interruptions from 10 am to 4 pm.

In Kisumu County’s Western region, the Awasi Market area—including Pala Market, Prime Steel, Gogni Quarry, Bondo Kochola, Holo Dispensary, and Stonefield Quarry—will be affected from 9 am to 5 pm.

KPLC has advised customers in the listed regions to prepare accordingly.

This, as it apologised for the inconvenience caused.
