The proposed refurbishment budget for State Houses and State Lodges for the 2025/26 financial year highlights significant disparities between requirements and allocations.
The Nairobi State House has the highest requirement at Sh389 million, with an allocation of only Sh180 million.
Similarly, Mombasa State House requires Sh240 million but has been allocated Sh55 million.
Harambee House Main requires Sh100 million but will receive Sh50 million.
Nakuru State House, with a requirement of Sh272 million, is set to get Sh50 million, while Kisumu State Lodge, requiring Sh77 million, will receive Sh30 million.
Other allocations include Sh28.1 million for Kakamega State Lodge (against a requirement of Sh34 million) and Sh25 million for Kisii State Lodge, which needs Sh306.8 million.
