Brand Finance publishes the Global Soft Power Index based on a survey of more than 170,000 respondents from over 100 countries to gather data on global perceptions of all 193 member states of the United Nations.
Soft Power is defined as a nation's ability to influence the preferences and behaviours of various actors in the international arena (states, corporations, communities, publics, etc.) through attraction or persuasion rather than coercion.
Egypt leads Africa at position 38, followed by South Africa (41), Morocco (50), and Nigeria (77).
Other African nations ranked include Algeria (78), Tunisia (79), Ghana (90), Kenya (92), Ivory Coast (94), and Tanzania (95).
Globally, the United States secured the top spot, followed by China and the United Kingdom.
