Ruto nominates Murkomen as Interior CS

Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen has pledged to build on the achievements of his predecessors to deliver on President William Ruto's promises to the people.
Murkomen was speaking when he assumed office as the new Interior CS.
Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi who was holding the office on acting capacity after Kithure Kindiki left the office to assume office as the Deputy President.
Speaking during the hand-over ceremony, he appreciated President Ruto for reassigning him the new role.
"To be entrusted by the President with the responsibility of serving our country in the Cabinet is a great honour and privilege," Murkomen said.
"I'm deeply indebted to him for re-assigning me to a new role in his Cabinet."
Murkomen commended Mudavadi for his commitment in the little time he had at the ministry, bringing stability and direction to the Ministry
He further expressed his gratitude to Deputy President Kindiki, who served as the Interior CS for two years for providing the foundation that has seen a good deal of success in his term of office.
“We shall build on their achievements and deliver what the President promised the people of Kenya," Murkomen said, reassuring Kenyans of his resolve to keep up the pace within the Ministry to ensure security, efficient public administration, and cohesion in the nation.
Murkomen urged Kenyans to observe road safety as the festive season begins.
"I wish everybody a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Let's observe road safety and celebrate with moderation," he added.
The Ministry of Interior and National Administration plays a very vital role in the aspect of ensuring security, managing national resources, and actualizing government policies.
Murkomen, who previously served as the Cabinet Secretary for Transport before he was moved to Sports, takes over the critical Interior docket from Kindiki, now serving as Deputy President.
