Murang’a county announces 46 internship opportunities

Murang’a county government has advertised 46 job vacancies across various fields. 

The 46 vacancies are distributed across eight categories containing a specified number of posts open to the vacancy. 

The eight include; general interns (11 posts), communication and media( 3 posts), youth polytechnic instructors (seven posts), and medical laboratory technologists (ten posts).

Other vacancies are that of ICT having three posts, supply chain management (1 post), automotive engineering (1 post), and ECDE caregivers (10 posts).

The deadline for submitting the applications for the various posts across the different categories is on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.  

"The objective of the Murang'a County Government Internship Programme 2025 is to provide young adults with the opportunity to gain skills that can be applied to future jobs, obtain real workplace experience, and build a professional network, among others," a statement from the application documents on the county's official website said. 

The general intern category has two requirements for appointments: be a Kenyan citizen and a degree holder from a recognised university in Kenya. 

Successful applicants will get Sh20,000 per month; this is similar to the communications and media category, ICT category, supply chain management and automotive engineering category

The youth polytechnic instructors category is subdivided into three parts: plumbing having two posts, hairdressing and beauty (3 posts), and electrical wiring (2 posts). 

Successful medical laboratory technologist interns will pocket Sh30,000 per month. 

Those from the ECDE caregivers category will receive Sh15,000 per month. 

Additional information on the eligibility criteria and terms of service for each category advertised can be accessed and downloaded on the county’s official website.

Interested individuals are encouraged to send their applications online.

Government agencies have also announced 38 job opportunities in various departments.

In notices published via Tuesday’s issue of My Gov, the institutions advertised the different job vacancies that are up for grabs.

The Public Service Commission (PSC) announced four job vacancies in public universities.

At the University of Nairobi, the Commission is seeking to employ a Vice-Chancellor and a Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic Affairs).

The Commission is also looking for a Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration and Finance) for Kenyatta University and a Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration, Finance, Planning, and Development) for Tharaka University.

PSC said the details of the posts and mode of application can be accessed on the Commission’s website: www.publicservice.go.ke.

Applications should reach the Commission on or before February 11, 2025, at the latest 5pm.
