Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is seeking to expand his political support outside the Mt Kenya region as part of his 2027 plans.

The ex-DP has lately held meetings with a section of elected politicians and other opinion leaders from other regions to broaden his 2027 strategy.

The plan is to ensure he has a strong army of candidates who will fly his yet-to-be-unveiled party's flag in various seats across the country.

Gachagua is eyeing some of the government critics as he builds his machinery for the next general election.

He is targeting to field several parliamentary, gubernatorial and MCA candidates across the country.

On Wednesday, Gachagua held a meeting with a section of elected and nominated MCAs from Kisii County, seeking a pie of the region's support.

The meeting at his Wamunyoro residence came days after he met elected MCAs from Nakuru county and hours after another session with Murang'a elected ward representatives.

The Kisii delegation also included Nyaribari Masaba politician James Nyaanga.

"He shared his experience as a professional engineer and why he believes it is time that people with the kind of background he has to consider adding value to Kenya’s political processes,'' Gachagua posted on X after meeting Nyaanga.

The MCAs from Kisii included Michael Motume (Masige East Ward), Christopher Onsaga (Nyamasibi Ward), Naftal Onkoba (Nyacheki Ward), Nyagaka Onchong'a (Sensi Ward), Brendah Kiteya (nominated), Ruth Nyagechang'a (nominated), and Karen Magara (nominated).

On Monday, Gachagua held a meeting with a section of leaders from the Maa community at his Wamunyoro residence.

In a statement via his official X and Facebook accounts, the former DP stated that the meeting focused on issues affecting the Maasai community and the entire nation.

"We move forward to a better and equal Kenya as a people. I continue to listen to and engage all stakeholders and opinion shapers on what the best one nation deserves, especially at a time like now when we are on the precipice of an economic, social, and political nosedive," Gachagua said.

"Today at my Wamunyoro residence, Nyeri County, I spent the whole day with Maa leaders from Kajiado and Narok counties."

Gachagua commended the leaders for "their immense knowledge and patriotism for our motherland."

"I have noted the concerns they have raised on issues that do not only affect the Maa community but also the entire nation," Gachagua said.

Among the leaders in attendance was Onesimus Ngogoyo (Kajiado North Member of Parliament).

Others were parliamentary aspirants including Daniel Kanchori (Kajiado County), Joshua Olowuasa (Kajado East), Martin Olekamwaro (Narok North), Moses Birisha (Kajiado Central), James Lesere (Dalalekutuk Ward), Peter Tirishe (Mosiro Ward), Abraham Osoi (Matapato Ward), Ole Esho (Narok Elder), Benson Saayo (Narok Elder), among others.
