The Independent Policing Oversight Authority/IPOA

The Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) has announced several job vacancies at the organisation.

IPOA in an advertisement through the weekly government pullout MyGov applicants interested and who meet the set requirements should submit their applications by Monday, February 24, 2025.

The authority is seeking to fill seven vacant positions.

The positions include a senior assistant director legal services, an assistant director investigations and an assistant director internal audit and risk.

The authority also seeks to hire a supply chain management officer and a Senior records management officer.

The other two vacant posts include a legal officer and a planning officer.

Interested applicants looking for detailed job descriptions for the vacant positions have been directed to visit the IPOA website.

"IPOA is an equal opportunity employer and shall not in its recruitment discriminate on the basis of race, religion, colour, ethnic origin, political affiliation, sex or sexual orientation, pregnancy, marital status, disability, health or social status," the advert reads.

"Canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification. IPOA does not engage any recruitment agencies and no medical examination is required to attend an interview. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted."

Interested persons are required to submit their applications through Post Office, email or hand delivery.

They should clearly indicate the position and jo reference number, on both the cover letter, envelope and email applications.

The applications should have the IPOA employment form, a detailed CV, copies of academic and professional certificates and their national identity cards.

They are also required to provide names and telephone contacts of three referees before the given application deadline.

The Independent Policing Oversight Authority was established through an Act of Parliament published in November 2011 to provide for civilian oversight over the work of the police in Kenya.

Article 244 of the constitution requires the police to strive for the highest levels of discipline and professionalism, promote and practice, transparency and accountability in execution of their duties.

IPOA holds them accountable to this standard. The inaugural Board was sworn into office in June 2012.
