Political activist Bob Njagi, who was abducted and held incommunicado for 32 days by unknown people in August 2024, has revealed that he was locked in a room adjacent to the one missing Wajir MCA Yussuf Hussein Ahmed was being held.

Njagi, who narrated his ordeal to Citizen TV on Wednesday, said when he was released, Ahmed was still alive and in the custody of their abductors.

“We might be laughing about this matter sometimes but I want to say that the MCA for Wajir was actually in the room where I was. I had the opportunity of peeping through the keyhole and I saw him,” he said.

Njagi said Ahmed was brought into the location on the night of Friday, September 13, 2024.

The activist and leader of the Free Kenya Movement, who had been keeping tabs on the calendar said it was in the middle of the night when the MCA was brought in.

“I did my own investigation and found that he was a man of Somali origin and immediately when I was released, I did my own search online and realised that on the same day, September 13, there was a man who was abducted at Enterprise Road and that’s the same man who was brought to where we were,” he explained.

The whereabouts of the Della Anole Ward MCA remain unknown, five months since he was last seen.

A month following his disappearance, a mutilated body believed to be his was retrieved in Lake Yahud.

Although his family identified the body, two independent DNA tests revealed that it was not Ahmed’s.

The MCA was abducted in Nairobi while being driven in a taxi, where he was heading to Pangani from South C.

Wambua Kioko, the taxi driver, told the police that armed men alighted from two unmarked Toyota Land Cruiser Prados which blocked their way and forced the politician out of the vehicle.
