The meeting was held at his Wamunyoro residence, a home that has become the headquarters for planning his next political moves.
“This morning, I had the immense pleasure of hosting grassroots leaders from the land of my Mother—Meru County, at my Wamunyoro residence. They brought with them warm greetings from my relatives and the vibrant community back home, a reminder of the deep roots and strong bonds that tie us all together,” he said.
According to Gachagua, the meeting presented an opportunity for him to share with the grassroots leaders the progress made towards the launch of his new political party.
“Their visit was a crucial opportunity for us to share insights and updates regarding the launch of our new political party. I was grateful to brief them on the preparations we have made thus far, highlighting our commitment to representing the aspirations and needs of our people.”
The former DP said the leaders also took the time to update him on what people are saying about his plans.
He said several concerns from the people were also raised during the meeting, even as he reiterated his commitment to forming a party that will represent all Kenyans and will work for all.
“In return, these dedicated leaders shared with me the pulse of the ground—what the community is saying, their hopes, and their concerns. It’s clear that the people are eager for change and ready to embrace a new vision for our county and beyond.
“Together, we will build a party that echoes the voices of all Kenyans, ensuring that everyone feels included and represented. Thank you, Meru County, for your unwavering support. Together, we will make history!” Gachagua said.
The former Deputy President has made his Wamunyoro residence the centre of his operations since his impeachment.
