A seismic movement of magnitude 4.4 has been reported in Los Angeles at 12.20PT.

According to CNN the earthquake had an initial reported intensity of 4.7 but has since been revised down to 4.4.

The Michigan Tech website states that earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 to 5.4 are often felt but only cause minor damage.

Those of 5.5 to 6.0 magnitude causes slight damage to buildings and other structures, about 350 occurrences are reported each.
