World leaders congratulate Trump

World leaders have trooped to social media to congratulate Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump over his project win of the November 5, elections.

The numbers suggest that Trump has already crossed the 270 mark required in the Electoral College votes for one to win.

While addressing his supporters at his campaign headquarters in Florida, Trump said he will not rest until Americans get the future they deserve.

He said the country was in a bad state and if they had waited any longer the situation would have been worse

Trump said this projected victory is a chance to Make America Great again. He thanked the people of America for electing him.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said congratulated Trump, saying that he looks forward to working with him in the coming years.

He also described his win as historic.

“As the closest of allies, we stand shoulder to shoulder in defence of our shared values of freedom, democracy and enterprise.

“From growth and security to innovation and tech, I know that the UK-US special relationship will continue to prosper on both sides of the Atlantic for years to come,” Starmer said.

European Union President Ursula von der Leyen said, “I warmly congratulate Donald J. Trump. The EU and the US are more than just allies. We are bound by a true partnership between our people, uniting 800 million citizens. So let's work together on a strong transatlantic agenda that keeps delivering for them.”

Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky said he looks forward to an era of a strong United States of America under President Trump’s decisive leadership.

He added that they hope for continued strong bipartisan support for Ukraine in the United States.

“I appreciate President Trump’s commitment to the “peace through strength” approach in global affairs. This is exactly the principle that can practically bring just peace in Ukraine closer. I am hopeful that we will put it into action together.”

Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said, “Congratulations to President Donald Trump @realDonaldTrump on your election victory and comeback. I look forward to working together to further strengthen the relationship between our two countries during your term.”

French President Emmanuel Macron said,” Congratulations, President @realDonaldTrump. Ready to work together as we did for four years. With your convictions and mine. With respect and ambition. For more peace and prosperity.”

India’s Narendra Modi said he looks forward to building on previous successes to further strengthen India-US partnership.

“Heartiest congratulations my friend @realDonaldTrump on your historic election victory. As you build on the successes of your previous term, I look forward to renewing our collaboration to further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership. Together, let’s work for the betterment of our people and to promote global peace, stability and prosperity.”

‘Congratulations to President-elect @realDonaldTrump. I look forward to working closely with you and your administration on the major challenges of our time. Finland and the US are close allies on so many fronts, including security, technology and business,” Alexander Stabb of Finland added.
