Mose tops Kingdom Bank golf tourney in Kisii

The tournament attracted 90 golfers drawn from Kisii, Kakamega, Royal, Muthaiga, Kericho, Nyanza, and Kenya Airforce Golf Clubs.

Elizabeth Mose claimed the overall title during the Kingodom Bank tournament held at Kisii Golf Club.

Mose, playing off handicap 17,  carded an impressive 41 points to lift the title. Josephat Simba(handicap 23) took the runners-up position after garnering 39 points while Martha Simba (37 points) was second runner-up.

In her victory speech, Mose said: “I’m proud I won today. I had a good flight that also contributed to my win. The secret is to be consistent on the course.”

Peter Mogendi was the Division One winner with 36 points while the Division Two winner was Victor Langat with 37 points.

Wilson Koech took the Division Three honours after carding 37 points. The sponsors’ title was won by Ronald Isaka (23 points) while the guest winner was Vincent Ong’era (29 points).

Handicap seven Zack Bichage lifted the first nine award with 18 points while the second nine title went to lady captain Joan Mitei also with 18 points. David Omollo won the nearest to the pin title. 

The longest-drive titles went to Andrew Nyanusi and Christine Riaroh.

Kisii Sports Club’s golf captain Adrian Monari thanked Kingdom Bank for sponsoring the tournament and club night. He also paid tribute to the visiting golfers.

Monari said more tournaments are lined up at the club. On August 10, the club will host the Kenya Commercial Bank golf tournament, which will be followed by the CIC Insurance tournament on September 7.

The bank’s head of business development Alex Kasiki and business development manager in charge of golfing activities Phane Kerubo graced the occasion.
