Kirinyaga Woman representative Njeri Maina on Tuesday launched
a classroom project at the Kadawa primary school in the Mwea East sub-county.
The scope of the project entails 5 state of the art ultra-modern classrooms with tiles.
The classrooms will be fully equipped with lockers and seats
for the learners.
“My office lobbied for the project after noting the systemic disenfranchisement of the local community subjecting learners to inhabitable learning conditions,” MP Njeri said.
The project, estimated to cost Sh8 million, will see over 40 persons
on site per day, a move that will equip them financially.
“I am concerned by the systemic discrimination of low-income
households when it comes to access to education. This project will not only bridge
the gap but also empower those from poor households,” she added.
