Abdulswamad Nassir was sworn into office as the second governor of Mombasa on Thursday.
The ceremony was held at the Mama Ngina Waterfront Park.
He was sworn into office together with his deputy Francis Foleni Thoya.
Nassir now takes over from Hassan Ali Joho who led the county for ten years.
Nassir was declared the winner of the Mombasa gubernatorial elections held on August 29.
Top Azimio leaders led by Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua and Wiper party boss Kalonzo Musyoka on Thursday witnessed the swearing-in of Nassir as Mombasa governor.
Mombasa County Inspectorate offices also graced the event.
He garnered 119,083 votes against his closest rival former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar of UDA who polled 98,105.
