Lawyer Miguna Miguna has penned down a statement dedicated to officials in the Kenya Kwanza administration.

On Monday, Miguna referred to his piece of advice as his two cents, which is offered in good faith.

"I believe I would be speaking for millions of Kenyans, many of them those who voted for President William Ruto and support his government, when I remind senior members of his government, especially cabinet secretaries, principal secretaries and heads of parastatals and other important arms of the state of the following," he said.

Miguna highlighted that power comes with immense responsibilities.

"Whatever you say or do when holding public office carries significant weight and reflects on your office and the government you serve," he added.

The lawyer also reminded the officers that power is transient and one may have it today and lose it tomorrow.

He also reminded the officers that they should be mindful of what they say.

"Always remember that ultimately, whatever you do or say should serve the public good and advance public interests. If it doesn’t, avoid it," Miguna added.

His statement came just when CS for Investments, Trade and Industry Moses Kuria is in the eye of a storm after he attacked a leading media house.

However, in an outburst that drew widespread condemnation from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and various media stakeholders, Kuria vowed to ensure that no government agency would be allowed to advertise with the Nation Media Group.

Media practitioners and other players, including the Media Council of Kenya, Media Owners Association, Kenya Union of Journalists (KUJ), Kenya Editors Guild (KEG) and Political Journalists Association of Kenya (PJAK), separately issued statements condemning the remarks as reckless, unwarranted and calling on Kuria to be brought to account for his foul language.

Some media stakeholders and Kenyans asked President William Ruto to tame his Cabinet members, saying he had lowered the status of his office after his remarks.
