A man aged 88 was found murdered at his farm in Butula, Busia County.

Raphael Echesa Sunia was found dead in his compound long after the incident had happened on November 24.

Police said they had been informed the deceased was attacked and severely assaulted by his neighbour while on his farm for unknown reasons.

He sustained severe chest pain, swelling on his shoulders, and a cut on his forehead and was rushed to Bungoma County Referral Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment.

The deceased's body is currently at the hospital's mortuary awaiting a postmortem examination.

Police visited the scene and announced efforts to trace and arrest the known suspect are ongoing.

The suspect is being held for grilling over murder.

Meanwhile, a man who has been managing epilepsy was found dead in a stream after a suspected drowning in a village in Kitui County.

Villagers in Kabumbu village reported that Anderson Wanjohi, 20 drowned in the 'Kiwe' stream near Kirimunge shopping center.

Police who visited the November 24 incident said they had been informed the deceased suffered from epilepsy and was under medication.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.

Such patients need closer care to manage their condition.

Elsewhere, a man was found dead in a village in Mathira, Nyeri County after a suspected suicide.

Police said the incident happened on November 23 in Kaguthiru village.

The body of the man was found hanging on the rafters of his house with a piece of cloth tied around his neck.

 No suicide note was found and the motive of the incident is yet to be known, police said.

The body was taken to Karatina Sub County Hospital mortuary for an autopsy.

This is the latest such incident to happen in the country amid calls to address a worrying trend of suicide.
