The Teachers Service Commission has announced nearly 20,000 new promotion posts for teachers ahead of the next academic year beginning January 2025.
The commission had in November also placed an advertisement for promotion vacancies as it sought to fill administrative positions left vacant.
However, the commission, now says teachers who applied in the advertisement of between November 12 and 18 should apply afresh.
The move implies that the commission could have annulled some of the vacancies advertised earlier and seeks to begin the process afresh.
The latest advertisement seeks 19,943 teachers for administrative vacancies in primary and secondary schools and some for tertiary institutions.
The biggest number of vacancies are in the cadre of Senior Teacher I where TSC seeks to fill 4703 vacancies for regular primary schools. These teachers fall in Job Group C3.
The commission will also fill opportunities in the Deputy Head Teacher II for regular primary schools where TSC seeks to fill 3,653 vacancies. These teachers serve at Job Grade C4.
TSC says there are 2, 221 vacancies available for Senior Master IV at Job Group C4.
There are two positions of Senior Master II in Special Needs Secondary Schools.
TSC is also seeking to fill some 2,130 vacancies for headteachers for regular schools. These teachers serve at Job Group C5.
The Commission is also seeking to fill 1,987 vacancies for Senior Master III at Job Group C5 and another 1,408 for Deputy Principal III at Job Group D1.
Some 1,364 vacancies for Senior Teacher I are up for grabs for teachers at regular primary schools while 81 are available for their counterparts in Special Needs Primary Schools.
There are 786 vacancies for Deputy Principal II in secondary schools at Job Group D2 while there are 652 vacancies for principals in regular schools at Job Group D3.
There are 254 vacancies for Senior Head Teachers for regular schools at Job Group D1.
There are 126 vacancies for Senior Principal at Job Group D4 in regular schools while TSC also seeks to fill 184 Secondary Teacher I posts for only Diploma holders.
TSC is seeking to fill 44 positions of Chief Principal in regular schools at Job Group D5 and another three Chief Principal posts in teacher training colleges.
There are three positions of Deputy Principal at TTCs while 13 senior lecturer I positions are also available at the same institutions.
TSC says there are 32 positions of Senior Lecturer II in TTCs that are up for grabs.
For Senior Lecturer III, there are 61 vacancies to be filled, seven for Lecturer I and 70 positions for Senior Lecturer IV.
TSC is seeking seven Senior Headteachers for Special Needs Education schools and 33 head teachers for the same institutions.
In Special Needs Primary institutions, TSC has advertised 77 Senior Teacher I and 81 Senior Teacher II.
