Kenya National Highways Authority (KENHA)

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced the temporary closure of a section of the Ruiru-Tatu City-Kiambu (B115) Road for rehabilitation and reconstruction works.

In a statement released on Saturday, KeNHA advised motorists and residents in the area to prepare for disruptions and use alternative routes during the period of closure.

“The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) would like to inform the public that Ruiru-Tatu City-Kiambu (B115) Road will be temporarily closed at a section between Kirigiti roundabout to St Peter and St Paul Catholic Church,” the statement read.

The closure will affect the stretch between Kirigiti Roundabout and St Peter and St Paul Catholic Church.

According to KeNHA, the closure will begin at midnight on Monday, December 23, 2024, and is expected to last until 6 pm on Monday, January 6, 2025.

Traffic will be rerouted through the Kirigiti-Rui Stage Junction-Kiambu Town route to ensure continued connectivity while the works are underway.

KeNHA said the rehabilitation aims to enhance the road's quality and ensure seamless connections in line with the authority's mandate to maintain and improve national highways.

This closure will facilitate the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the road section to facilitate seamless connection with the Authority's mandate.

KeNHA has urged motorists to exercise caution while navigating work zones and adhere to the proposed traffic management plans.

“Motorists are required to exercise caution around the work zones and to follow the proposed traffic management plan as well as cooperate with the police and traffic marshals on site,” the statement read.

The temporary closure is expected to cause minimal inconvenience, as the alternative route has been carefully identified to accommodate traffic during this period.

However, road users are encouraged to plan their travel schedules accordingly to avoid delays.
