DISQUIET HAS REPORTEDLY rocked a county in Western.
There are claims a close relative of a top county official is running the show at the headquarters.
The relative, who, though not a county employee, reportedly issues instructions, directs and commands senior officers.
He also dictates the affairs of the departments, including the award of tenders and hiring of personnel.
Shockingly, he sometimes attends county executive committee meetings, a top decision-making organ whose sittings are chaired by the governor.

IT SEEMS ALL may not be well for a governor from a far-flung region who has dumped his county for the capital.
Corridors understand that the governor could soon be in trouble after a section of angry MCAs from his county pledged to introduce an impeachment motion against him.
It emerged that the governor has allegedly spent millions of taxpayers’ money in expensive hotels where he resides in Nairobi.
Back home, residents are decrying the sorry state of affairs, with bad roads, lack of water and pathetic hospitals dominating the scene.

WHEN A SENIOR government official for the second time appeared in a media briefing to criticise the government he serves over continued human rights violations, a vocal lawmaker from Rift Valley pledged to respond.
However, he reportedly received instructions from high places to cancel his plans.
It is unclear why the powers that be decided to instruct the cancellation of the rebuttal, but the move has been seen as purely political.
Although the renegade top government official knows his time is nigh, it is not known whether he will face the sack or get pressured to resign.

A VOCAL LAWMAKER from Nyanza who has earned notoriety for defending his party’s decision to work closely with the government in social media through posts castigating state critics, has gone silent.
The lawmaker, who has not missed any opportunity to attack real and imagined critics of the government, has temporarily gone into hiding because of a fresh auditor general’s report indicating massive loss of money in the NG-CDF for his constituency.
It is not known if the attacks on him will subside to enable him come back in full force to continue bashing the state’s critics.
