Kacheliba MP Titus Lotee has told off former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua over his plan to expose President William Ruto.
Lotee was responding to a report by Daily Nation, where Gachagua says that with time, he will make Kenyans know the true character of the President.
According to the MP, Gachagua should have resigned the moment he knew things were not right.
He went on to say that exposing Ruto at this moment would make the former DP insincere and amount to vengeance.
“In this country and the world over, if you believe that what your boss is doing is wrong, you better quit at that level. Do not wait until you are pushed out and that is when you tell us there was a problem in there. That is insincerity from Gachagua,” Lotee said in an interview with Citizen TV.
The legislator called on Gachagua’s allies to advise him to stay calm.
He added that while Kenyans will give the former DP a listening ear, they will not believe what he says after being forced out of office.
“I will ask Gachagua, and the people around him to ask him to cool his head. Kenyans will listen to him but truthful Kenyans will know Gachagua is not as truthful as he says because if he was, he would have told us everything he wants to say now. What he says now is all vendetta. It’s everything that seeks to mud Ruto's presidency.”
On Sunday, Gachagua in a televised interview opened up on the intrigues that led to his fallout with President Ruto.
He said it was largely because he refused to support programmes by the Kenya Kwanza administration that were unpopular among the people.
The former DP also noted that he now understands why former President Uhuru Kenyatta fell out with Ruto, who was his deputy.
