Acting ODM party leader Anyang' Nyong'o has reiterated the outfit's democratic ideals saying they have not veered off from key values that informed its foundation.
The ODM chief in a statement on Friday said ODM remains steadfast in its ideals of democracy, accountability and transparency.
Nyong'o, who is also Kisumu Governor, allayed fears among Kenyans that the outfit had taken a different path from the one that inspired its mass following.
"Let there be no misunderstanding: ODM does not play second fiddle or trumpet the interests of any other political party," Nyong'o said.
"We remain a formidable force in shaping Kenya's political landscape, firmly rooted in our principles and ideology."
Nyong'o noted that the ODM party was founded as an independent, revolutionary and people-centred movement and it remains steadfast in such ideals.
He went on to explain that while the party is committed to its ideals, it is ready to enter meaningful partnerships that align with its vision for the country.
"As a political entity, we understand the value of strategic partnerships. From time to time, we may choose to form alliances and coalitions with other parties or groups that align with our objectives and vision for Kenya," Nyong'o noted.
He added that the partnerships are deliberate efforts by the party to strengthen its resolve in achieving its primary goal of capturing political power in order to transform the lives of Kenyans.
"Our mission has always been to serve the Kenyan people by championing justice, equity and sustainable development.," he said.
“Let every Kenyan know that ODM is committed to the aspirations of the people. We will continue to be a beacon of hope, integrity, and progress in our nation’s politics.”
