Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has called on Kenyans to shun away from the politics of discrimination.
Speaking on Wednesday, during the Launch of the extension of the secondary Dyke for River Nzoia flood control project in Budalangi, Busia county, Kindiki insisted that this must not be encourage in any form.
He went on to say that President William Ruto has been very clear in championing for the unity of the country, which is the reason he has brought together from all parts of the country, regardless of their political affiliation.
“We must not encourage discrimination in all forms: tribal, religious, gender, age and any facet of discrimination. The President says we are one country, one flag, one people and that is why he has brought together leaders from all faction and we all pulling towards one direction,” Kindiki said.
He noted that President Ruto strongly believes in the unity of the country as this is what will expedite the process of getting national development.
The DP urged all Kenyans to follow the example of the President and stay united.
“The President strongly believes in the unity of the nation for faster development. We must be a united country as the President has shown us.”
The Deputy President added that Ruto is very focused on growing every sector that is of great benefit to the people, in addition to ensuring the country is self-sufficient.
He said these sectors will also improve the lives of all Kenyans
“The President is improving every sector in the country that is beneficial and profitable to wananchi; in agriculture, fishing, sugarcane and other sectors set to improve the lives of all Kenyans. The President is busy working to ensure the country is self-sufficient and that every citizen is a beneficiary.”
Kindiki is accompanying President Ruto on a six day tour of the Western region. Other leaders present are National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.
The visit began on Sunday and has seen the president commission various projects that are set to improve the lives of Kenyans.
